This post describes a Summer of firsts and exhibitions.
In the beautiful village of Boston Spa, I joined the WGA for their Summer exhibition. This group are so organised. Talk about team effort. A display board and table each. In the photo you can see my prints, greeting cards and some wool samples to show visitors.
I have tried out a new idea and brought a couple of examples. I call them 3D Curves. The felt work is so lovely to touch that I wanted to try out having a picture that you could handle and touch. I've made a curve from cardboard tubes and this means they are free-standing. I sold one, nearly sold both of them. Delighted.
A new art gallery has opened up in my home town. The new manager is a friend and has suggested I send some work over. Another exciting venture - My first Gallery. I made several purses and pouches, wrapped up 10 pictures and a selection of cards and prints. Fingers crossed.
In preparation for the next Open Studios event (again September - due to Covid), we held an exhibition in Wetherby Town Hall to promote the event. We're all wearing masks and visors. Health and safety covid posters everywhere. Sanitiser with everything. It was a very warm and busy day. Getting to meet people and talk about my work is now alot easier.
Looking forward to the Open Studio event.
